One day last week, I sat under an ancient
baobab tree with the leader and the elders of the Weyto tribe in
Ethiopia.
I have seen poverty in my lifetime but nothing prepared me for
what I saw the day we walked through their village on the outskirts
of Bahir Dar. I was met with poverty so immense that it was
hard for me to accept that what I was seeing was real.
I will never, nor can I ever, forget it. I was
a witness that day to the indignity and despair that these people
face each and every day. This is the face of poverty that we
at Alchemy World are trying to change. And so I ask you to be a
part of this journey. Please join me in helping this tribe gain
some semblance of dignity in their lives.
Their most urgent need is to live in stable
and secure houses. We propose the building of a mud house village
which will cost £67,000 ($100,000
USD). But so that we are not overwhelmed by that
amount, let me break it down to a more manageable number:
2000 people contributing £34 each
($50 USD).
Please
donate today.
You might wonder why we would be engaged with
this project when our flagship is social entrepreneurship
schools. We have taken on this project because
right now the children in this village have no hope of breaking out
of the poverty trap: they have no hope of getting an education, and
they have no hope of becoming students at our entrepreneurship
schools.
We can change that with a
few simple clicks...
During this very special season with all that it encompasses, we
invite you to be part of the solution to help the men, women, and
children of Weyto village.
Please help us fund the
building of a mudhouse village for the Weyto Tribe. Donate
today at http://www.justgiving.com/alchemyworld.
Sincerely,
Carlo
